Born in Mexico City yet prefers green over grey and silence over noise.
Damiana graduated Summa Cum Laude from Universidad Iberoamericana with a BA in Communication Sciences and a minor in Film. She has worked in Mexico's top commercial production houses as a Second Unit Director, Creative Assistant and Assistant Director.
Her first short film, L de Luz, has screened in numerous film festivals around the world, including New York City, Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Mexico, Italy and Romania, and has been awarded Best Director of the Season and Best Female Eye Award.
Recently, she was chosen as an emerging Mexican filmmaker by the program Tomorrow's Filmmakers Today in collaboration with UNAM Los Angeles, HBO and The Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
Recipient of the prestigious Mexican scholarship FONCA-Conacyt, Damiana is pursuing a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Film Directing at the American Film Institute Conservatory in Los Angeles.
